I love cities

Few things affect our quality of life as much as the public realm. This belief is at the core of my work. I aim to contribute to shaping the public good and a higher standard of living for all.

I believe in:

Places designed for people
I seek to discover opportunities to reshape public and private space for the enrichment of public life.

Craftsmanship
Our work is meant to inspire and delight. I celebrate excellence in the techniques, skills, and process of design in the creation of something enduring and meaningful.

Kindness and empathy
I value and am enriched by the experience and perspectives of others and I believe that by working together we are stronger. This is as true in design as it is in our daily lives.

Nature as a source of inspiration
I believe that by observing the world around us, we can learn a lot about ourselves. The insights gained from our natural environment can guide us to organic and intuitive design solutions that nurture the soul and amplify the human spirit.

Growth
I find inspiration and fulfillment in the exploration of new techniques, ideas, and perspectives and endeavor to continue to grow, both as a professional and as a person.

What I've done:

With over 13 years of experience, I have been fortunate to be involved in a broad portfolio of projects that have allowed me to exercise my belief in the positive power of the public realm and hone my skills so that I am able to confidently execute projects with an integrity fitting the responsibility we as designers bear the public. As an associate at the Planning Partnership, where I spent 10 years, I was the design and management lead for many of the firm’s highest profile and technically challenging work, including award winning projects such as the West Don Lands Public Realm in Toronto, Ogilvy Square in Ottawa, and Downtown Fenwick in Pelham, Canada.

I have been intimately involved in the work at all stages of design and have, as a result, developed a broad skillset that allows me to be flexible, independent, and productive on projects of all types, scales and contexts, and through all phases of work. As a result, I feel equally comfortable sketching design concepts, developing technical details, creating 3D models and renderings, preparing specifications, and reviewing construction.

I desire to continue to grow as a designer and am thankful to be a part of a profession filled with others who share my passion for public space and quality of life.
